This lovely soft silk satin scrunchie has been eco printed with Woad Seed and hand sewn by me. The woad plant has been used to create a rich blue dye for centuries, with evidence found for its use in Neolithic caves. It is especially associated with the Celts and Pictish people who are said to have used it in body art. The blue pigment is mostly extracted from the leaves, but for these scrunchies I have used the seeds which give unique prints and marks.
The satin fabric gives a touch of glamour and luxury.
Silk is lovely for the hair and these are a special treat.
