This stylish vintage silk midi dress has been given a new lease of life with natural colour! It has been hand dyed with Cutch- a resin from the Acacia tree prized as a dye in India. The tie dye patterns have been created using rusty water.
A vintage find from ‘Betty Barclay’ probably from the 90’s, it measures approx 45cm/18 inches across the chest and 36cm/18 inches at the waist. It will fit an 8-12 depending on the fit you like. It actually fits me pretty well as a size 12 and I think it looks great!
It’s made of quite a raw slubby silk and the skirt is lined with probably a polyester. It’s in vintage condition and I have made a couple of little repairs including a little embroidered flower by the sleeve. One of the belt loops is also missing. It has slits on the sides of the skirt. Belt not included.
A great vintage look as we go into autumn.
It has been mordanted for long lasting colour and can be hand washed or on a delicates cycle.
